Cancer and Food: The Truth about Health Claims and Labels on Food Packaging

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 09

The information displayed on food packages and labels is often our guide to making nutritious choices. But with so many products claiming they are healthy, nutritious, and good for our immune system and with little knowledge about deciphering food labels, it is easy to be confused and sometimes misled.

Join Keri Ryniak, board certified oncology dietitian with the GBMC Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute to become an educated consumer. Learn how to evaluate such health claims and get a better understanding of what it really means when, for example, a food is labeled natural, hormone-free, whole grain or free of trans fats. This is sure to be an interesting and eye-opening program.
