Gifts in Honor To celebrate the joy of now, HopeWell offers Gifts in Honor. These gifts are a meaningful way to acknowledge the courage and strength of someone living with cancer, or celebrate an important health or survivorship milestone. They can also commemorate a personal milestone—a birthday, wedding, anniversary, graduation, or retirement—and support HopeWell at the same time.

A Gift in Memory can help to express the sense of loss you feel when you lose someone to cancer. It is also a meaningful way to celebrate the memory of a loved one who cared about HopeWell’s mission. Gifts in Memory can build a legacy and provide direct support for an organization that your loved one cherished.

Should you wish to include this information in an obituary, please feel free to use this wording. "In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to HopeWell Cancer Support. Please make checks payable to HopeWell Cancer Support and mail them to: Development Office, HopeWell Cancer Support, P.O. Box 755, Brooklandville, MD 21022. Please remember to include a note stating that your gift is in memory of (Name of Deceased)."

To make a Tribute Gift... Send a check payable to HopeWell Cancer Support, P.O. Box 755, Brooklandville, MD 21022. (Minimum gift of $10 per tribute, please.) If you would like us to notify someone of your gift, be sure to include the reason (as in, “in honor of the 50th birthday of Rose Smith”), plus the name(s) and address(es) of those to receive the notification. When you make a tribute gift, HopeWell will acknowledge your contribution and notify the honoree (or designated individuals such as family members). Simply provide us with the names and addresses and we will do the rest.

The names of the donor and the person being remembered are published in our Annual Report.
